Transforming Society Through Rotary!!
Here are some of the successful initiatives from Rotary Coimbatore Heritage
Women Empowerment at Rural Areas:
Empowering women from rural parts was one of the dreams of Mahatma Gandhi. As an initiative to achieve this goal, Rotary Coimbatore Heritage has setup a micro credit system where one lakh rupees every year as a revolving fund. This fund is given as a credit to individuals and groups of women, for them to setup their small scale businesses. This initiative is done in collaboration Shanti Ashram - a renowned social service organization in Coimbatore.
Renovation of Restrooms in Government Schools:
Schools is where the future of our country is shaped and for children to study with a peace of mind. Rotary Coimbatore Heritage has taken a small step by constructing and renovating the restrooms in five government schools which approached us. It is regular phenomenon from RC Heritage.
Rotary Heritage Cricket League (RHCL):
Our club conducted Rotary Heritage Cricket League as a fund raising event for supporting the initiative to provide pure drinking water at Government Schools. RHCL is a cricket tournament for Corporates and Clubs. This will also gives us the platform for approaching Corporates for joint projects to the needy.
Health Care for underprivileged kids from rural areas: We have done our first ever Global Grant project titled “ Building an Innovative Model for Child Health to Serve Vulnerable Communities”. Target reach for the comprised project is attending 15000 children in rural areas.
The objective is to:
- Providing Pediatric Health Care
- Providing accessible and affordable health care through base hospital, mobile clinics, village out reach,etc,.
- Providing quality capacity building training to Parents and Professionals to create healthy communities.
- Providing training to Parents to overcome long standing societal challenges like malnutrition.
- Sustainable health care for 15000 children.
